What is a Federal School Code?

Update/Add a Federal School Code (FSC)

Institutions that are eligible to participate in the Title IV federal student aid programs are assigned a Federal School Code (FSC) by the Department of Education. It is a unique six-character code beginning with 0 (zero), G, B, or E and ending with a five-digit number. Institutions can have more than one FSC if, for example, they wish to distinguish additional campuses. The FSC is used to: •indicate which postsecondary school(s) and/or location(s) a student wants to receive their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results, and •establish a destination point (mailbox) to send and receive FAFSA, ISIR or grant data via SAIG Please remember that after your new Federal School Code becomes active, you must go to the SAIG Enrollment Site to enroll for services and establish a mailbox for the FSC in order to send and/or receive FAFSA, ISIR and grant data to and from the Department of Education. If you are not familiar with the SAIG Enrollment Site or need assistance enrolling for services, please call the CPS/SAIG Technical Support help desk at 1-800-330-5947.

If that information is not available, send an email to COD School Relations (codsupport@acs-inc.com) requesting that updates be made to the FSC address, contact person name and/or email address or that you want to add a FSC for an additional location.
